For Second Harvest Inland Northwest, reliable transportation is key to ensuring fresh, nutritious food is delivered in their 51,000-square-mile service area. Reaching communities across North Idaho and Central and Eastern Washington, Second Harvest’s Dodge Sprinter Van plays a critical role in its Mobile Market, zero-waste initiative Zilch, and Bite2Go kids programs, delivering food while it’s still fresh.
To help keep Second Harvest and their team of volunteers on the road, our Liberty Lake team installed top-notch new tires on the van as part of our new Les Schwab Tires for Purpose donation program.
This contribution allows Second Harvest to safely transport food to families facing hunger while maximizing resources for its mission. With nearly all of Second Harvest’s budget focused on sourcing donated food and maintaining infrastructure, this donation means more dollars are put to work to feed neighbors facing hunger.
“This donation from Les Schwab Tires means we can go farther, use our van more often, and have the peace of mind that our volunteers are safe—especially on long-distance hauls,” said Conor Ellert, Second Harvest team member.
The Les Schwab Tires for Purpose program is rooted in our commitment to strengthening and investing in our local communities. Nonprofits making a positive difference in their communities are invited to apply for a tire donation to keep their vehicles safe and missions moving forward at lesschwab.com/tiresforpurpose.
Les Schwab tire shops extend the tradition of providing popcorn in waiting rooms by donating the snack to local schools and community organizations.
